Treating & Curing Hep C (HCV) in Saskatchewan Primary Care Settings – Virtual Classroom

This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Saskatchewan Chapter for 4 Mainpro+ credits.

Virtual classroom sessions are offered several times a year and consist of 2 two-hour presentations delivered over interactive webinars by local Infectious Disease Care Specialists and experienced HCV physicians.

There is no registration cost to attend!

Each session has a maximum of 15 participants and is targeted to:

  • Physicians
  • Medical residents
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Registered Nurses
  • Pharmacists

Content discussed over the two presentations will include:

  • Awareness of HCV & the current state of HCV in Saskatchewan
  • The role of primary care providers in HCV treatment and patient care
  • How to screen for & diagnose HCV
  • How to evaluate patients for treatment with the goal of HCV cure

Sessions focus on participants’ knowledge development and preparation for integrating sound HCV assessment and treatment into their clinical practice. Participants enrolled will have increased access to the program’s supports and mentorship.

Completing this course meets the criteria to become an approved HCV treatment prescriber for Saskatchewan (physicians and nurse practitioners only).
